Doing Math

Painting 5 of 30 – September 2014, 30 Paintings 30 Days Challenge

I hate math. But what I hate even more is having to do math in order to eat. And doing math when you’re grumpy and starving is totally not cool. In the beginning I was required to track every little carbohydrate, fat, and calorie I consumed. Counting, measuring, weighing out everything to make sure I was within my limits and then have to “write it down”!?! You REALLY don’t want to know how much I hate math, and to have my life ruled by it, made me want to scream. With time though things have gotten better, I know what and how much and what combination of things I can have to be within my guidelines, and no longer need to write everything down… or do any math. This painting represents targets, guidelines, and all the other numbers that get jumbled in the head when doing the math.
