Art Requests
It is important to us that you enjoy your art as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Original paintings inspired by a special vacation, sentimental location, or something unique, special and perfect for your space make wonderful additions to your home and thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gifts for someone special.
To make the process enjoyable for both the client and the artist, we have a “No Pressure” approach to creating artwork inspired by your ideas.
As a contemporary abstract artist, there is no way I can know what you think the finished painting should look like, just as there is no way you can know what’s going on in my head or how I envision the finished work. That’s part of the fun! It takes the pressure completely off both of us. If you love it, you can buy it. If not, no worries—someone else may fall in love with it instead.
- Our original paintings are priced the same as our standard Original Works.
- No deposit is required for unframed works smaller than 24 × 30.
- A 10% non-refundable materials deposit is required for unframed works larger than 24 × 30.
Once the painting is complete, you have the first opportunity to purchase it. If you love it, wonderful! If not, no worries—you’re under no obligation to purchase it.
If you decide to pass on the finished painting, your deposit can be converted to a non-refundable credit toward another original painting, either from our existing inventory or a future Art Request. Credits are valid for 24 months from the original deposit date and may be applied to the purchase price of any eligible original painting, but not merchandise.
How does the Art Request process work?
1. Inspiration
Prospective clients are encouraged to complete our online Art Request form, or to call or visit us at our gallery to discuss their ideas.
If Amy has any additional questions about the request, she may contact you to arrange an in-person meeting or phone call where the details can be discussed further. This is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, learn more about the inspiration behind the painting, and discuss where the finished work may reside. Knowing a little more about the space and the story behind the subject matter can help Amy explore ways to incorporate meaningful details into the painting whenever possible.
Amy accepts Art Requests on a very limited basis, when her schedule permits and only if she feels the piece will fit into her current portfolio. Amy does not accept requests for portraits (people or pets), offensive imagery, or reproductions of copyrighted characters or artwork.
2. Creation
Upon acceptance of your request, you will receive an agreement outlining the anticipated timeframe for completion, the first right of refusal, deposit and credit terms (when applicable), copyright, pickup or delivery, and other information pertaining to the artwork. Upon acceptance of the agreement by both parties and receipt of any required deposit, Amy will begin work on the painting.
3. Completion
When the artwork has been completed, Amy will contact you and send a picture of the finished work for you to review. Clients are encouraged to view completed works in person at our gallery when possible.
You’ll have the first opportunity to purchase the finished painting. If you love it, it’s yours! If not, no worries—someone else may fall in love with it and purchase it instead. If a deposit was collected, the credit terms outlined in your agreement will apply.
