Painting 4 of 30 – September 2014, 30 Paintings 30 Days Challenge
As most people know, when you start a new diet the hardest part is getting over the hump of feeling hungry all the time as your body adjusts to your lifestyle change. I don’t know about you, but when I’m hungry, I get grumpy. I remember, during this phase how difficult it would be to make lunches for my little ones with things that I just was simply not allowed to have. I miss cheese. Or better yet, when my father, who was still in the hospital then would call and ask if I could bring him a hamburger, because he just couldn’t stand one more hospital meal after about five months of bland, tasteless, horrible meals, and he needed to eat something…. I can almost still smell that hamburger sitting in its bag as I drove it in my car, walked it through the hospital, and watch him barely eat it and threw it out… It was a special kind of torture. But I pushed through and made it through the adjustment phase. Through the selective use of colors often found associated with food, and food marketing, this painting represents the yearning one goes through during this phase of lifestyle change.
love the COLORS!
