Painting 25 of 30 – September 2014, 30 Paintings 30 Days Challenge
My husband and I were long overdue for a vacation and the kids had never been on one. Everyone needs a vacation, to kick back, relax and indulge. But that can be problematic when you are on a strict diet and exercise routine. We were fortunate in that we were able to vacation at a relative’s place in Destin Florida (see Destin Art Series). Because of our budget, the kids, and more importantly my diet, we decided that we would take advantage of the kitchen at the condo, hit the grocery store when we got there and buy what we would normally eat at home for the week. My husband and I we knew our biggest temptation was that we love seafood, and Destin has some of amazing restaurants that are usually on our “Must Go To” list when we are down there. So we also decided that we would take advantage of the local fish markets and cook fresh local caught fish instead of going out to a restaurant. It was a lot of fun cooking in the kitchen while looking out at the gulf. The best part, was that despite a few indulgences while on vacation, I didn’t lose any weight, but I didn’t gain any either!
This painting is my interpretation of the kitchen in the condo… the stove, microwave, pots, pans, countertop and window view.
