Fat Girl Thin – Quietly

Painting 3 of 30 – September 2014, 30 Paintings 30 Days Challenge

When I decided to commit to a new diet, exercise and overall change to my lifestyle, I did so quietly. For the longest time only my husband knew, and later only the closest of friends and family. I know some people feel that sharing with others will force them to have accountability, and think it will help them keep on track because they don’t want to fail expectations. That’s just not me. I decided to keep quiet and essentially not tell anyone so that I didn’t have the pressure of failure. I wanted to do it for me, and me first and not in front of an audience, and share with others on my own terms, as I am now, when was ready. This painting best expresses the cool, collected manner in which I quietly kept this major undertaking while being accountable to only myself.

    1. Thank you! I took up painting after I was no longer performing as a musician as an alternative outlet for my creativity. I like to think I express my emotions through my brush strokes and color choices.
