Fat Girl Thin – Independance Day

Painting 20 of 30 – September 2014, 30 Paintings 30 Days Challenge

Sitting with my children, husband and my mother watching the fireworks across the river from Coney Island (Cincinnati) on July 3rd I took a few moments to reflect. The day had started off beautifully, I had splurged on myself and had a wonderful massage, followed but some quality family time at a local park. Unfortunately, my son had an accident while at the park that required a visit to the local children’s hospital, but all was fine and mostly forgotten by him by that evening as he sat in my husband’s arms anxiously awaiting the fireworks to begin. My confidence felt liberated, and I was excited that I had just meet my first major short term goal that I had set for myself. I was healthy, my family was healthy, and it was like the sky was celebrating with us!
